"TEARS OF A BLEEDING HEART" - Episode 9

Mansa suspected she was pregnant. This even worsened her situation. Her being pregnant would bring issues she was not ready for. “God please, I cannot be pregnant” she prayed desperately as she walked back to bed. She was so worried about her condition that she completely forgot about the dream she had. The following morning, Mansa got up early and went about her household chores.
Derek was getting ready to go out when he saw Mansa in the kitchen. They had not been able to speak for long due to his recent busy schedule Somewhere deep inside, Derek was a bit jealous of the sudden closeness between Mansa and Chris. He was missing her company, even though they lived under the same roof. He stepped into the kitchen to say hi to her before leaving.

“Hey Mansa, where have you been hiding yourself?” Derek asked. “I should be asking you that. You are the busy one, remember?” Mansa said. “Yeah sis, I must admit that I have been very busy. Anyway, how about I take you out tonight? Derek asked. “Really? I’ll love that but you know mum may not agree.” She replied. “Don’t worry, leave that to me. Just be ready by the time I come home tonight”, he said and left. Chris had been eavesdropping on the conversation between Derek and Mansa. He quickly ran back to his room as Derek came out of the kitchen. Fortunately for him, nobody saw him. Later that morning…

Chris was in his room when all of a sudden he heard shouts coming from the hallway. The person was screaming as if he/she was possessed by demons. Chris got up to go see who it was, it was his mother. Mansa who had also heard Mrs Bernard screaming was already in the hallway trying to find out what was going on. Mrs. Bernard refused to talk to anyone. She was sweating and panting as if she had been running a marathon. She quickly went to the living room and sat there, completely ignoring everyone. Mansa and Chris were in shock. However, there was nothing else they could do but wait for her to calm down.

Chris went back to his mother’s room to check if there was anyone there, but he didn’t see anything. The room looked as normal as always. After only a few minutes, Mrs Bernard to her room. She took a quick shower and without saying a word to anyone, she hurriedly left home. Chris and Mansa were very worried now. What was really going on? On the other hand, Chris was excited that he was once
again left alone with Mansa. He thought he could probably take things a step further. He came up with a plan. Mansa was the type of lady who respected people’s privacy. She never had the guts to enter either Derek or Chris’s room.

Chris needed to figure out a way to lure her into his room that morning. The pregnancy issue with his girlfriend Alicia was the last thing on his mind. He hadn’t even bothered to call her after the confrontation. All his focus was on getting Mansa into his bed. Mansa, on the other hand, went out to get a pregnancy test kit. She wanted to be sure if she was pregnant or not. This gave room for Chris to figure out how to get Mansa into his room. He decided to feign sickness. He quickly got a duvet from his room to cover himself up and laid on the living room sofa.

Mansa returned to find him lying on the sofa. As expected, she quickly rushed to check on him. “What’s wrong with you, Chris?” She asked. Chris told the biggest lie of the century, “I really don’t know. I have these pains all over and a serious headache. I’m feeling cold and weak too and the worst of it is that I can feel my heart beat faster than usual. Mansa, I’m falling sick.” “Sorry, let me get you some drugs from the first aid kit.” Mansa said. “Yeah, but before you do that, kindly help me to my room” Chris innocently asked Mansa helped Chris up and slowly walked him to his room. Chris had succeeded. What was his next plan of action? Just as they went in, Mrs Bernard came back. She was a lot calmer now.

Wherever she went must have been very helpful in calming her down. She opened the door leading to the living room and found a black polythene bag lying carelessly on the living room carpet. She picked it up to check, only to find a pregnancy test kit in it. Apparently, Mansa had dropped the bag as she took Chris to his room. Mrs Bernard wondered who it belonged to. She went straight to Mansa’s room but she was not there. She went to the kitchen but didn’t find her there either. She
checked the whole house but Mansa was nowhere to be found. Mrs Bernard then decided to go and check on her beloved son who had been worried about her strange behaviour that morning.

She got to Chris’ room and without knocking, she pushed the door open.
